Frank Muir

Writer and broadcaster Frank Muir gained a strong reputation as a creative and authoritative writer. He had a very fruitful working relationship with Denis Norden, with whom he wrote for both radio and television. He appeared frequently on the BBC Radio programmes 'My Word!' and 'My Music,' and was also very successful as a team leader on the television panel game 'Call My Bluff.' He advised the BBC on its comedy output, and was later head of comedy at London Weekend Television.

Murray Burnett
Article Abstract:
Murray Burnett was co-writer with Joan Alison of 'Everybody Comes to Rick's,' the play on which the famous film 'Casablanca' was based. He gained very little recognition for his part in the making of this film, and never again wrote for the cinema. His 1944 play 'Hickory Stick' had a brief Broadway run. He began writing, producing and directing radio shows, and wrote two series starring Marlene Dietrich. These were 'Cafe Istanbul' and 'Time for Love.'

Ken Hoare

Writer Ken Hoare began his working life as a librarian, but from the 1960s onwards was involved in a very successful working partnership with entertainer Stanley Baxter. He also entered the world of television, writing comedy sketches for a number of variety programmes. His first television play was 'The Outing,' written in 1956. In the 1960s, he also collaborated on television comedy with radio writer Mike Sharland.
