Villagers threaten to burn out hippies
Article Abstract:
A vigilante group living in Castlemorton Common, Hererford and Worcester, England, is threatening to take the law into their own hands to remove a 12,000-strong group of New Age travellers who held an illegal festival on the common. Over 100 hours of loud acid house music caused stress and the villagers accused the hippies of trying to sell drugs to local children. Many sheep had to be slaughtered after a roaming dog savaged them. The Malvern Hills Conservators, common trustees, discussed strategy with the West Mercia police. Villagers were dissatisfied with police inaction although over 50 people were arrested for drug offences.

Hunt for Bader's Spitfire leads to a foreign field
Article Abstract:
It is possible that a French policeman has recently discovered the Spitfire plane in which Sir Douglas Bader crashed over France in 1941, leading to his capture by German troops. It was always very unclear how the plane was brought down. Bader thought that he collided with a German plane, but records from German pilots do not shed any light on the event. There are now plans to recover the plane and restore it for display.
