Vincent Wright

Political scientist and historian Vincent Wright took his undergraduate degree and doctorate at the London School of Economics, where he also taught between 1970 and 1977. He developed very strong research skills in the departmental archives of Basses-Pyrenees at Pau, France. He was a Visiting Professor at Rennes University, France, in 1979-1980, and worked at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, between 1980 and 1982. He focused on local politics and centralization in the 1970s, shifting later to the comparative study of privatization and regulation.

Lt-Col Mike Watkins
Article Abstract:
Bomb disposal specialist Mike Watkins joined the Royal Army Ordnance Corps as a private soldier in 1962. He undertook three years' apprenticeship and trade training, and then became a corporal. He gained his wings at RAF Abingdon, and spent three years with 16 Parachute Brigade. He was commissioned in 1980, and was posted as a Lieutenant to 6 Field Force. He undertook extensive bomb disposal work in Northern Ireland, and was promoted to Major in 1986.
