Virago was the only name to pick
Article Abstract:
Carmen Callil founded the publishing company Virago in 1973, run by women to publish women and to reveal hidden feminism at a time when men and their tastes were seemingly all that mattered. The first title published, Fenwomen by Mary Chamberlain, was phenomenally successful and Callil went on to become managing director of Chatto and is now to take over as global publisher for Random House. This is a lucrative part time arrangement. She has one weakness, a love of cats.

Why is Black Rod the only black here?
Article Abstract:
The UK's traditional ceremonies, such as the annual state opening of Parliament, are completely inappropriate in the multi-racial society which the UK now has. These ceremonies fail to take account of any other ethnic group, and are far removed from the concerns of ordinary people. Some are so stage-managed and pompous that they become merely laughable, and just make fools of those who take part.
