Dance on the grave of the Establishment
Article Abstract:
The recent publicity surrounding the Ordtech conspiracy is just one example of the growing lack of deference for the UK's political leaders among judges, former government ministers, senior barristers, newspaper owners and other public figures. They are no longer concerned about aligning themselves with official government views, and express their opinions openly. This has some benefits, but lack of respect for elected leaders could eventually lead to power passing to other power centres which cannot be controlled by the electorate.

Buchanan's message is not a load of hogwash
Article Abstract:
Pat Buchanan, who is fighting to receive the Republican party's presidential nomination, has performed much better in the votes which have taken place so far than had originally been predicted. He is managing to appeal to ordinary people with his message of putting the US first, protecting jobs and reducing the power of Wall Street. He is unashamedly populist, and uses his charisma and humour to full advantage. He is also drawing on a strong oppositional instinct which is not unique to the right wing or to the US.
