Article Abstract:
The Design Museum in London, England, is currently holding an exhibition entitled 'The Power of Erotic Design.' This focuses on 20th century artefacts, and covers items including advertisements, clothing, posters and vehicles. It deals mainly with the obviously and deliberately erotic, and for this reason seems rather patchy. The Whitechapel Gallery in London, England, is holding an exhibition of the work of object collage producer Cathy de Monchaux. These elaborate works give a sense of delicate ornament and of mechanism.

Article Abstract:
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England, is currently staging an exhibition of carvings by Grinling Gibbons, who died in 1721. Little is known about how Gibbons learnt the art of carving, but his work can be seen in many well-known buildings and has remained popular ever since his death. His work is sophisticated, and he was clearly conscious of his artifice. His carvings, although very old, seem to contain everything that is desired by modern society.
