When Britain stands accused in the dock
Article Abstract:
The UK government has frequently clashed with the Court of Human Rights, having been found guilty of more than 35 human rights violations out of 76 cases heard. The UK has lost so many cases mainly because it is in a difficult position, having ratified the human rights treaty in 1950 and given citizens the right to take their cases directly to the Court of Human Rights, but never having incorporated the treaty into domestic law. As long as this situation continues, there will continue to be high-profile cases which cause embarrassment to the UK government.

Social workers did not know of previous attempt to kill a child
Article Abstract:
Chritine Gibelli suffers from Puerpal psychosis but her doctor's warning to West Norwood social services was not prioritised as an important file containing information about attempted infanticide was not found. A pre-birth meeting was not held until a week before the birth. Gibelli refused the treatment plan in favour of hormonal treatment from Dr Katherina Dalton. Progesterone had to be administered every 24 hours. It was not given on June 28, 1992.
