When Maureen and Castro are not who they seem
Article Abstract:
It can be very hard to distinguish fact from fiction in the observational documentaries that have become very popular among television viewers in the UK. Television viewers enjoy gaining an insight into the lives of other ordinary people, but some people are willing to bend the truth in order to be featured in a documentary. Similarly, fierce competition between production companies to obtain commissions can tempt them to fake situations. It is clear that the public needs better protection against the manipulation of the truth in observational documentaries.

Long hours? No pay? Great!
Article Abstract:
Many media employers in the UK will not consider job applications from graduates who have not had relevant work experience. For this reason, graduates should seek work placements, even if this means working for nothing. Many media organizations offer work placements of between one and four weeks, but it will be necessary to be quite assertive to be accepted. While on a work placement, it is vital to show enthusiasm and initiative.
