Where are the cartoon characters?
Article Abstract:
Prices for political cartoons continue to rise steadily, with cartoons by Patrick Blower, for example, selling for 300 pounds sterling and those by Chris Riddell selling for 200 pounds sterling. Cartoons by the late David Low are worth between 500 pounds sterling and 900 pounds sterling, while those by the late Victor Weisz featuring SuperMac are worth between 700 pounds sterling and 800 pounds sterling. However, it is likely that collectors will lose interest in British political cartoons if they do not begin to show more originality again.

A bullish feeling for highland art
Article Abstract:
There is growing interest among investors in Scottish art. Leading UK auction houses frequently send Scottish pictures to be sold at specialized auctions in Scotland, and Scottish pictures have gained a strong international reputation. There is particular interest in the Scottish Colourists, Samuel Peploe, John Fergusson, Leslie Hunter and Francis Cadell. These artists can be regarded as the UK's post-Impressionists. Prices for works by the Impressionistic Scottish Colourists and for Scottish pictures in general are rising.

Much sought after by swinging cats
Article Abstract:
Designer furniture of the 20th century , 1930-1980, can be found amongst ordinary furniture for sale in junk shops and auctions. Contemporary furniture is hard wearing. Collectors use trade and exhibition catalogues. Architect-designed or architect-inspired furniture is in demand. If production has ceased, the sale estimate is probably less than the last retail price. If it is still in production the estimate is usually 1/4 of the high street price.
