Whodugit?
Article Abstract:
The highly exclusive London Golf Club has been the victim of two attacks on its greens by saboteurs. In the first attack, deep trenches were dug, the sprinkler system turned on and weedkiller sprayed around. In the second attack, the saboteurs targeted parts of the greens they had not damaged in the first attack. Managers at the club believe that evidence that seemed to incriminate travellers living near the course was planted deliberately to mislead those investigating the attacks. Some observers believe that the attacks were carried out by former club members or a former employee.

Retail therapy in Novosibirsk
Article Abstract:
Conde Nast has gone ahead with the launch of a Russian edition of Vogue, despite Russia's severe economic problems. The Sep 1998 launch issue sold 150,000 copies, and similar sales are anticipated for the Oct 1998 issue. Editor Alyona Doletskaya is targeting the magazine at the rapidly expanding middle class, rather than at the wealthy. Most articles in the launch issue have a Russian frame of reference, indicating that efforts are being made to identify a specific Russian style.
