Article Abstract:
The recent case of Brandon Lee, who returned to his old school and posed as a new pupil, highlights the changes which are now taking place in the rules which have traditionally governed a person's progress through life. Medical technology is now able to greatly extend a woman's childbearing years, for example, and more and more adults are now returning to education. Labour market developments make it necessary for employees to constantly upgrade their skills, and career development is no longer necessarily as smooth as it once was.
