Why oh why is feminism blamed for divorce rates?
Article Abstract:
The divorce rate in the United Kingdom has risen since 1857, when a parliamentary decree was needed for divorce, and there were only five cases in England and Wales. Divorce was still restricted to the rich prior to 1914. The divorce rateincreased rapidly after 1918, and then the rate slowed down. There are a number of ways of assessing why divorce has increased, which include looking at the reasons given by people who divorce. Wider factors such as urbanization and industrialization may also be responsible. Gender roles are affected by modern life, and this is an influence, rather than feminism.

Head for therapy?
Article Abstract:
There is no formal system in the UK for regulating therapists and their activities. Anybody can set up practice as a therapist, even if they have received no training at all, and there are more than 70 bodies offering training in many different forms of therapy. It is now vital that the government creates a body to define and regulate therapists. Extremely high standards should be set, with approval only being granted to therapies that have been scientifically proven to be more effective than no treatment at all.
