Why this scandal will have international repercussions
Article Abstract:
The scandal surrounding President Bill Clinton, who is alleged to have had an affair with former White House aide Monica Lewinsky, could have important foreign policy repercussions. There is a danger that he may be tempted to make concessions in order to secure a foreign policy success that would boost his image at a crucial point in his political career. Furthermore, Saddam Hussein may take action designed to increase tension in the Middle East at a time when Clinton is occupied with domestic matters. The Middle East peace process is likely to be negatively affected if Clinton's reputation is damaged.

A lucky kinda guy
Article Abstract:
US president Bill Clinton has experienced a number of very low points in his political career. However, he has shown an astounding ability to engineer a personal revival, and now seems very likely to win a firm victory in the forthcoming presidential elections. He has particularly benefited from his ability to empathise with others, as shown in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1994.
