Will more security ensure our children are safe?
Article Abstract:
The recent tragedy in Dunblane, Scotland, in which young school pupils were shot, has led to renewed calls for improved security in schools. Most schools in the UK still have open access, but this is now making some teachers feel vulnerable. However, most parents feel that the chances of anything happening to their children are very remote, and would not like to see schools introduce extensive security measures which would scare the children.

Bradford's moral guardians
Article Abstract:
Members of the Asian community in Bradford, UK, have hailed the campaign to remove prostitutes from the town's notorious Lumb Lane area as a success. The prostitutes are now determined to take positive action to protect themselves.

What is wrong with my child?
Article Abstract:
Parents who are aware that their child has a disability are usually very keen to have this properly diagnosed and labelled. However, this is often not possible, even at the most advanced hospitals. In some cases, children test normal for all conditions, and this can be very hard for the parents. Contact A Family now runs a number of informal local groups for parents of undiagnosed children.
