Will this child inherit his earth?

Article Abstract:

The cause of the world's many indigenous populations has been gaining ground since the late 1960s. However, their future remains uncertain. The United Nations produced a draft Declaration on Indigenous Rights in 1994, but this document remains caught up in bureaucracy. Even the annual United Nations working groups on indigenous populations have had mixed results. Across the world, indigenous populations are still seeking the right to return to their ancestral lands, but there are signs that a philosophy of co-existence is beginning to become established.

Joel Barr

Article Abstract:

Computer and electronics engineer Joel Barr was born in the US but emigrated to the USSR as a supporter of Communism before ultimately losing faith in the system. He claimed to want to bring Communism into the US because he was a patriotic American who wanted to create a better system for the US. Barr contributed towards the growth of the USSR's computer and electronic industry. Barr refutes accusations that he spied on the US for the USSR, but US intelligence records indicate that he passed on drawings of Bell Laboratories' radar systems.

The mouths that roared

Article Abstract:

Radio talk show hosts have started to have a significant impact on political developments in the US. One of the most influential is Bill Cunningham, who broadcasts from the WLW-700 studios in Cincinnati. He portrays himself as the 'conscience of a free America,' and is particularly opposed to Democrats and liberals. Most of the 1, 000 radio talk shows which now exist in the US are conservative, producing funds and publicity for Republican candidates and causes.
