World Cup tickets being touted on the Web
Article Abstract:
The integrity of the 17 travel agents worldwide authorized by Fifa, the football governing body, to sell 8% of all the tickets for the World Cup is being called into question by claims by US ticket agency 24/7 Ticket Service that these agents are providing it with World Cup tickets to sell on the black market. The ticket agency, which is advertising across the world on the Internet, claims that it is obtaining tickets directly from official agents and can therefore meet all requirements for tickets. The agency will be investigated by the French Organising Committee.

A month of advertising with some great soccer thrown in
Article Abstract:
Advertisers are very keen to become involved with the 1998 World Cup, which will be the largest international sports event ever held. In the run-up to the World Cup, many companies are already incorporating football into their advertising. However, some advertising experts believe that advertising related to football is not appropriate for all companies. They also point to growing cynicism about leading football players and about what companies pay to be associated with them.
