Corporate-funded university research may present some problems when the results are not in the corporation's best interests. Corporations such as Boots jeopardize their own success and the future of scientific research when they try to prevent publication of unfavorable research findings.

Mathematical logic flushes out the bugs in chip designs
Article Abstract:
Recent advances in formal verification may soon help computer-chip manufacturers detect flaws in microprocessor designs while at the drawing-board stage. A theorem prover developed at SRI International was used to find bugs in the AAMP5 microprocessor.
