Optimal design of an in situ Fe(II) barrier: transport limited reoxidation
Article Abstract:
In this study, the best selection of the numbers of wells, injection rate, and the number of regenerations of a large-scale Fe(II) barrier for Cr(VI) remediation were examined. The study is broken dwon into an introduction, a discussion of the experiments and its resutsl Various charts and tables accompany the article.

Barrier-controlled monitored natural attenuation
Article Abstract:
An analytical conceptualization of the management of a contaminated groundwater site with a vertical barrier is formulated to act in tandem with monitored natural attenuation in the remediation of benzene. The barrier-controlled monitored natural attenuation (BCMNA) scheme is designed to control the rate of contaminant release.

A mechanistic explanation for the In(LC50) vs In(hardness) adjustment equation for metals
Article Abstract:
The author of this paper proposed an explanation for the apparently coincidental relationships between LC50 and water hardness, by studying fish gills. The study also compares various mathematical equations to gathered data. Flathead minnows (Pimephales promelas) were exposed to changes in water hardness, alkalinity, and pH. Toxic copper levels were then calculated. The author points out that other metals probably could be used instead of copper in these equations to produce reliable results.
