Article Abstract:
The Data Quality Act petitions filed with dozens of different government agencies, which were initiated by industry groups, disputing scientific reports that could lead to tougher regulations is presented. Industry's success with the Data Quality Act is being copied by a few public interest groups that include some confronting the Fish and Wildlife Service's failure to list species as endangered when the data argue otherwise.

The introduction of the broadcast flag on July 01, 2005 was cancelled by a federal court. The broadcast flag is composed of a set of bits in a digital transmission for preventing unauthorized recording.
