The AAAS-EPA Environmental Fellowship is the newest addition to the AAAS Science and Engineering Fellowship program. The five fellows in the new program will learn methods for risk assessment and for ecological and health studies at the EPA National Center for Environmental Assessment.

How Cyanobacteria Count to 10
Article Abstract:
The prokaryote cyanobacterium Anabaena demonstrates a development pattern similar to eukaryotic cells. Approximately every 10th cell becomes anaerobic. It is speculated that the lack of a nitrogen source may be a factor in this development pattern. Research findings are detailed.
