The Pathfinder lander and the microrover Sojourner have been performing very well despite some minor technical problems. The Sojourner has been sending data about the soil and rock composition of the Martian surface. The Pathfinder has been sending data and images of its landing site.

At last, company: hints of life on Mars

Scientists have discovered possible proof of life on Mars. The examination of a meteorite found in Antarctica in 1984 showed tiny structures similar to terrestrial microbes which are believed to be the fossilized remains of ancient, single-celled martian organisms.
