The Ensembl genetic mapping project is a public project based in Europe that is using computer programs for genome analysis and storing the information. The idea of different research groups sharing their findings is promoted by not shared by all the scientists involved, as some groups want to use the findings to make money and others are afraid that incomplete information will be collected.
