The risks of inbreeding
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that the negative affects of inbreeding on health are not significant enough to justify laws against marriages between cousins. Genetic diseases are higher among offspring of consanguineous marriages, but laws banning the practice discourage couples from seeking genetic counseling.

Bone sizes trace the decline of man (and woman)
Article Abstract:
Analysis of bones belonging to 163 members of the Homo genus indicate that the bodies and brains of modern humans have undergone a gradual reduction in size since about 50,000 years ago. The reduction may be due to the development of tools or social skills the reduced human ancestors' need for brawn.

Doubts over spectacular dates
Article Abstract:
Measuring the light signal emitted by minerals in soil or ancient pottery has yielded some startling dates for early inhabitants of Australia, Siberia and Africa. However, some archaeologists and anthropologists question the dates and the accuracy of luminescence dating.
