Carl Sagan: an appreciation

Carl Sagan, who died on Dec. 20 1996 at the age of 62, was awarded with the Public Welfare Medal by the National Academy of Science. Among his noted works are the Pulitzer Prize-winning book 'The Dragons of Eden,' the television series 'Cosmos,' and his last book 'The Demon-Haunted World.'
