Catalytic C-C bond formation via capture of hydrogenation intermediates
Article Abstract:
The study aims to develop hydrogenation as a new method for catalytic cross coupling, a catalytic system enabling capture of hydrogenation intermediates are developed. The results concluded that low-valent rhodium monohydrides obtained through the heterolytic activation of hydrogen give rise to organometallic intermediates that are susceptible to capture through oxidation coupling via C-O pie-insertion and C-C pie insertion.

On the mechanism of stereoselection in Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation: a general approach for predicting the sense of enantioselectivity
Article Abstract:
The experimental and computational data on the mechanisms of Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of activated double bonds is presented. This to rationalize the discrepancies in the prediction of the sense of enantioselection for the P-sterogenic ligands and the ligands with backbone chirality.
