Chain of thought
Article Abstract:
Very valuable research into subsea, offshore and underwater engineering has been undertaken at University College London. However, researchers at this institution have found that there is a general unwillingness to invest in research, even if it could prove commercially viable in the future. Key research work includes a crane vessel which is currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico. This has four motion suppression tanks located internally on each beam. They are open to the sea at the bottom, and control valves ensure that they modify the wave-induced movements of the ship and balance out movements caused by the crane.

Shark attack
Article Abstract:
Dave Baker has invented the concept of a three-wheeled amphibious vehicle called Land Shark. The vehicle's rear wheel serves as a turbine which makes the transition from land to water surface easier than other proposed concepts. The front wheels' mudguards slide to become skis that lift the vehicle front out of the water. Baker is still working on the financial backing that he would need to start production of the first Land Shark.
