Change in the wind: utilities are starting to offer renewable energy - for a price

A number of electric utilities are offering consumers electricity from renewable sources, such as wind, solar and biomass. Many utilities are capitalizing on the environmental awareness of a number of consumers who are willing to pay a higher price for their electricity as long as it is sourced from a non-polluting power plant.

Lost science in the third world

Scientists from developing countries comprise only 24.1% of the global scientist population and receive only 5.3% of global outlays for research. However, the amount of research published by Third World scientists is far smaller, largely due to prejudices and barriers in the publishing system.
