Article Abstract:
Vocaltec Inc. has devised a technology for converting voice into digital form capable of being transmitted across the Internet. Although it requires further refinements, the system, known as the Internet Phone, offers an inexpensive approach to placing long-distance calls.

Intel's new technology known as 'Intercasting' will allow television viewers to access the World Wide Web simultaneously. Computer makers Gateway and IBM are working on the new computers equiped with Intercasting capabilities and expect to have the machines out in 1996.
