Deep within the proton, a flicker of new physics?
Article Abstract:
Results of collisions between positrons and protons suggest the presence of a particle outside of current matter theory. The collision data could be due to a leptoquark, a theoretical particle combining the properties of quarks and leptons, a stop, a quark counterpart, or a sub-quark.

Visible 'source' teases observers
Article Abstract:
Astronomers are debating interpretations of data collected from an X-ray source first identified by the Italian-Dutch satellite Beppo-SAX and subsequently observed by the Hubble Space Telescope. The X-ray source may be the afterglow a gamma-ray burst. Other explanations are provided.

How the hectic young sun cooked up stony meteorites
Article Abstract:
Astrophysicists have offered a new theory on the formation of chondrites. They speculate that the meteorites were formed by powerful winds and explosive flares in the region of the young sun.
