Delivering copper inside yeast and human cells
Article Abstract:
Two recent reports further understanding of the transport of normally toxic copper through cellular matter. One report discusses the mechanism of in vivo transport of copper by the protein Atx1. The second report identifies the protein Lys7 in trafficking copper in yeast.

New Potential for Human Embryonic Stem Cells
Article Abstract:
Pluripotential stem cells are capable of generating all the cell types in a human being and are self-renewable. These stem cells have been grown in a culture when taken from two types of embryoinc tissues, blastocysts cell mass and primoridal germ cells.

Alzheimer's precursor protein and the use of bathocuproine for determining reduction of copper(II)
Article Abstract:
Researchers used bathocuproine disulfonate (BC) to measure the ability of amyloid precursor protein to reduce Cu(II). Arguments for and against this use of BC are presented.
