Judge halts Corps's flood control project in Missouri
Article Abstract:
Federal judge James Robertson has ordered the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to stop their St. Johns Bayou and New Madrid Floodway Project. The judge declared that the project is not compliant with the Clean Water Act and the National Environmental Protection Act in a September 13, 2007 decision.

Orange County begins groundwater protection effort
Article Abstract:
The Orange County Water District (OCWD) of Fountain Valley, California, initiated North Basin Groundwater Protection Project to protect groundwater from industrial contamination. The project will be conducted in two phases to remove and treat polluted groundwater.
