Drought spurs Southeastern utilities to conserve water, seek new supplies
Article Abstract:
The southeastern United States experienced exceptional drought conditions since the summer of 2007 with Alabama, northern Georgia, and South Carolina among the worst hit. North Carolina's municipalities have been asked to voluntarily cut their water use while the drought has forced other local governments to consider their water supply options.
