Experiment Uses Nuclear Plants To Understand Neutrinos
Article Abstract:
A collaborative program between Japan and the US is building a massive underground detector for neutrinos emitted from nuclear power plants in Japan. Called KamLAND (Kamioka Liquid scintillator Anti-Neutrino Detector), the detector will capture both antineutrinos from the reactors and neutrinos radiated by the sun.
