Extinction on the high seas
Article Abstract:
Scientists are re-examining the conventional view that the oceans are too vast for human activity to extinguish a marine species. Many macroscopic marine species have more limited ranges than previously believed. Widely distributed organisms often belong to separate species.

Geologists Take a Trip To the Red Planet
Article Abstract:
The Geological Society of America gathered in Toronto in October 1998 to review data complied from the Mars Global Surveyor. One of the major finding was that Mars can hold water, with a series of canals and evidence that an ocean one existed.
