Backlash disrupts China exchanges
Article Abstract:
China's vast population, stable fixed settlements, and large genetic pool make it ideal for genetic epidemiology. However, the work of Harvard's Xu Xiping and hundreds of others has been delayed by Chinese officials, who fear commercial exploitation of their genetic heritage.

Going against the flow in China
Article Abstract:
Scientists are worried that harnessing the power output of the Three Gorges Dam to produce electricity could cause a buildup of sediment. Such a buildup could inhibit agricultural productivity downstream and navigation upstream.
