Corps builds world's largest fuse gates in California
Article Abstract:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed construction of six fuse gates at the Terminus Dam, which is located at the base of the Sierra Nevada. Terminus Dam, with the addition of 21 ft. tall fuse gates at northern California's Lake Kaweah, should now be able to withstand a 70-year flood, the possible maximum flood for the basin as determined by the Corps.

Corps hopes to restore marshes in Jamaica Bay
Article Abstract:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are in the design phase of one of many short-term erosion remediation projects in the Jamaica Bay, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean near New York City occupying more than 10,000 acres. The project is a temporary remedy to stem the loss of the expanses of wetlands in the Jamaica Bay.
