Grand Museum of Egypt to complement Giza Pyramids
Article Abstract:
The engineering details of designing of the Grand Museum of Egypt, a new museum in Cairo, are presented. The new museum, complementing the Egypt Museum, which dated back to 1904 and is currently unable to accommodate thousands of artifacts, including the pyramids at Giza , will be designed by a team of architects and engineers around the world.

Construction detail of a contemporary library replacing Egypt's erstwhile library of antiquity is presented. The new modern library called the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, occupying the same site as the one it is replacing, features a tilted circular roof, planetarium, four basement levels and six floors to hold about 8 million books.

This article describes the innovative efforts that went into the construction of quay wall of the shipping terminal on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. The quail wall is a contuous diaphragm wall in concrete, which provides berthing and clearance operations.
