Growing pains

Article Abstract:

Most small engineering firms desire to grow the business. However, there are plenty of unseen pitfalls relating to expansion, especially rapid expansion, and many small firms have found that it is possible to grow too big, too fast. Progress can very easily become uncontrolled among small enterprises, with disastrous consequences. Careful strategic planning including long- and short-term goals, careful organization and marketing and financial forethought can help problems associated with rapid growth.
