Hyakutake produces another surprise
Article Abstract:
Astronomer Michael DiSanti and his colleagues identified methane and ethane in comet Hyakutake as it passed Earth in Mar 1995. Neither compound had ever been confirmed in comets, but the methane surprised many. This compound is not believed to have been part of the material from which the solar system arose.

Article Abstract:
Fossils of 85-million-year-old zhelestids found in Uzbekistan provide the first indication of ungulate ancestors prior to the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary. Molecular data on ungulate genetics provides similar results on mammalian evolution.
