Intelligent gels
Article Abstract:
Polymer gels can produce mechanical work from chemical energy by changing their shape and size. Other gels traditionally have been too weak and unstable to be used in industrial applications. The new gels may lead to the development of intelligent, 'soft' machines.

SNRA: the intelligent road to the future

The Swedish National Road Administration uses an approach called Road Transportation Informatics (RTI) to guide road transportation planning. RTI relies on computers and information technology to plan roads and educate road users.
