Interactions between epithelial cells and bacteria, normal and pathogenic
Article Abstract:
Researchers agree that the conventional vision of the development of the mouse small intestine is too narrow. The interaction among the intestinal microbiota, the self-renewing intestinal epithelium, and the diffuse gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) is probably a key component of gut development.

Ion-surface interactions: from channeling to soft-landing
Article Abstract:
A team at Purdue Univ has accomplished the difficult task of soft-landing a polyatomic molecular ion on a surface, so that the molecule remains intact. This required an ion energy near the bond dissociative energy, an absorbing layer to remove kinetic energy and an absence of chemisorption.
