The details of the flood management in Central Valley, which has become the center of concern for California's Department of Water Resources (DWR), are presented. The concerns come in the wake of flood crisis caused due to leeves failure, leaving the urban regions surrounding the Central Valley vulnerable to a disaster.

Study finds Sacramento area levees inadequate

The reports released by Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA) reports that levees along California's Natomas basin might not provide the level of flood protection for the areas below the basin. SAFCA recommends $300 million in levee improvements.
