Is the resource-based 'view' a useful perspective for SHRM research? The case of the video game industry
Article Abstract:
An analysis of Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) of firms in the French video game industry is conducted with a special view on the resource-based view of the firm. It was observed that, in the video game industry the creative individual HR due to their characteristics cannot be managed by established firms with externalization being the only alternative by the video games companies to combat the management issues associated to creative HR.

The growth of Quebec's biotechnology firms and the implications of underinvestment in strategic competencies
Article Abstract:
The problems and issues related to the human resources access to biotechnology firms in Quebec is detailed on the basis of a survey conducted with 124 biotechnology firm managers who have access to human resources. The results suggest that the managers are very much preoccupied with the benefits of human resource capabilities and the strength they bring to the firms.

Human resources management in large information-based services companies: Towards a common framework?
Article Abstract:
The findings of an exploratory survey of the ten largest international companies in human resource management field, their models and practice of people management are discussed. It is observed that there is a common framework of practices, which includes training, evolution, and vision of role of employees, recruitment, management, communication and remuneration.
