Norwegian Cruise Lines has opted to lengthen and improve its Windward cruise ship by incorporating a 130-ft 5,000-ton section. The resulting ship is 725 ft long and can accommodate 500 more passengers. The entire project cost $69 million, which is equivalent to one-third the cost of buying a new ship.
