Martian Canals, 1901, the Crystal Palace, 1851
Article Abstract:
The debate over the origins of the canals on Mars continued in March 1901. Some scientists thought the canals were a system of artificial irrigation. Others suggested that the canals were geological fissures. Still another observed that the equipment being used by the scientists was limited. The World's Industrial Exhibition building, the Crystal Palace, was almost completed in March 1851. Scientists objected to the building because of its lack of strength. It only appeared to be fragile.

The case for relic life on Mars
