Metalloporphyrin-no bonding: Building bridges with organomettalic chemistry
Article Abstract:
DFT calculations have elucidated fundamental aspects of the structure and bonding of a variety of metalloporphyrin-diatomic, -dialkyl, and -diaryl complexes. Unexpected similarities between the bonding in mettalloporphyrin-NO and organometallic compounds were discovered and DFT calculations have played a significant role in selective role of selective diatomic ligand binding in heme proteins.

Confusion approach to porphyrinoid chemistry
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of meso-aryl N-confused porphyrin (NCP), a porphyrin isomer and one of its characteristic properties, NH tautomerism is described. It is concluded that the confused pyrrole into the normal and expanded porphyrins leads to generation of the confused porphyrinoids having rich structural diversity.

Structural diversity in expanded porphyrins
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the synthesis, applications and the structural diversity exhibited by the several expanded porphyrins. These complexes can easily be used as photosensitizers and anion binding agents, in addition to its usage in the nonlinear optical applications.
