NAPL compositional changes influence partitioning coefficients
Article Abstract:
Some errors could be introduced when partitioning interwell tracer tests (PITTs) are employed to measure subsurface contamination by nonaqueous phase liquids (NAPLs). The PITTs should use a corrected partitioning coefficient when measuring NAPLs using a solubilization mechanism. Ideally, PITTs technology can be used to measure contamination effectiveness for a variety of remediation processes.

Biodegradation of high concentrations of tetrachloroethene in a continuous flow column system
Article Abstract:
The anaerobic biodegradation of perchloroethylene (PCE) within a continuous flow column system is influenced by factors such as concentration of PCE and time. The initial product of the anaerobic biodegradation of PCE is vinyl chloride. Eventually, the production of ethylene from vinyl chloride begins to take effect with such a system.
