NIH picks three gene vector centers
Article Abstract:
NIH has allocated about $3.5 million for the three gene vector laboratories, which will develop agents needed to deliver new genes into human cells. Headed by well-known gene therapy experts, the centers are located at the Univ of Indiana, Univ of Michigan and the Univ of Pennsylvania.

Leaders of the Human Genome Project have found that their DNA sources are less diverse than previously believed. Two of the four donors may not have given informed consent, and not all are anonymous. As a result, standards have been developed for new clone libraries.
