Nonspecific DNA bending and the specificity of protein-DNA interactions
Article Abstract:
An ambiguity is pointed out in the argument that the energy cost of bending both specific and non-specific DNA by the lambda-Cro protein contributes to the protein's binding specificity. A clarification of the conclusion is included.

Interhelical salt bridges, coiled-coil stability, and specificity of dimerization
Article Abstract:
A study on the GCN4 leucine zipper suggests that interhelical salt bridges in coiled coils are not vital to stability and dimerization specificity. Arguments for and against this interpretation are presented.

Polypropylene tube surfaces may induce denaturation and multimerization of DNA
Article Abstract:
Research suggests that the surface of polypropylene tubes may catalyze the denaturation of DNA that is associated with multimerization. Arguments for and against this interpretation of results are presented.
