Nuclear legacy of Soviet Union poses concerns
Article Abstract:
Nuclear reactors and materials in the states of former Soviet Union pose environmental and proliferation dangers. Inadequate security for the reactors may lead to environmental hazards in these countries which had already faced many disasters such as the Chelyabinsk disaster. Unemployment among nuclear scientists, poor economic conditions and lack of security may induce people to export technology and materials to other countries leading proliferation.

Changing course in the Americas
Article Abstract:
The relationship between the Americas has undergone dramatic changes as shown by the issues discussed during the Summit of the Americas in Dec. 1994. Among these are the shift in priorities from security to the promotion of free trade and regional economic integration. The support for democracy and human rights has also increased in Latin America while collective action has been taken to curb the rise in drug trafficking.
